The good: I got a discounted lunch at Chipotle because they thought I was with the two cops in front of me. I brought it up that it seemed cheap, but it was already too late as they had already processed the credit card transaction.

The bad: There was a dead cochroach in each urinal at the client today. Ok, not so much bad, just disgusting. Still not as bad as a living cockroach flying out of a vent and landing right next to my computer while at a client. Which reminds me, I’m working under a vent and need to move over a bit.

The Ugly: TBD. There’s plenty of time, it’s still early.

From CNN:

Judge favored by BP has financial ties to oil industry

The judge that BP wants to hear an estimated 200 lawsuits over the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster gets tens of thousands of dollars a year in oil royalties and is paid travel expenses to industry conferences, financial disclosure forms show.

Am I missing something here? First of all, how is it BP is allowed to favor a judge or even have an expectation of getting a specific judge? On top of that, how is it any judge, federal or state, is allowed to accept money from anyone? I mean anyone! Isn’t that contrary to the whole concept of a judge being independent? I understand it’s legal, but it’s just not right in my book. This is why decisions made by the government seem to have nothing to do with the people they govern, but the companies they govern (and receive money from).

Ok, I’m off my soapbox.

Finally got to see a highlight of the phantom foul in the US vs. Slovenia match. What a bunch of…. well, you know what I’m talking about.

I’m wondering if Ian O’Conner at ESPN New York is going to write a similar, but opposite, article as this one written earlier this month – Mets humiliated by Philly — again – after the Mets humiliated the Phillies during the past 3 games. Way to go Philly, you scored ZERO runs in a three game series. It’s history making. You should be proud. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

That last part was for you TW. Enjoy.

Thank you AP for the suggestion to download and use portable applications run on an external hard drive or, in my case, a thumb drive. You may wonder why I’d want to run an application off an external hard drive. Well, this way I’m able to use applications I might normally use on a home computer without having to install them on the work computer. In this case I’m talking about Google Chrome and Firefox. The only question is… why didn’t I think of this before?!

Shortly after landing in Houston for a layover I opened my email to find the following message, “Continental Airlines flight 2945 to Birmingham (BHM) has been canceled.” Ugh! Luckily there was another message that read “There was a change to your flight(s). This notification concerns a change in flight numbers and flight times.” I was booked on the next flight to Birmingham at 3:50 PM, giving me plenty of time to post my first entry using the iPad. Typing on this thing is much easier than I expected.
