Fantasy Football – Week 7 Results

It was another tough week to be the Konmen last weekend, but even tougher to be a New York Jets fan. The Jets vs. Patriots game was on local television, so I was able to stay home to watch the game, which also allowed me to yell at the TV at my hearts content. The Jets kept things relatively close during the 1st half, but the game had Patriots win all over it… until the fourth quarter, when the Jets pulled back to tie the game. Then the inexplicable happened, the Patriots fumbled a kick return and the Jets recovered inside the 20 yard line with just over 2 minutes to go. The loud noise heard in Venice Beach was from my house. All the Jets had to do was get 1 first down, which would have run down the clock, and kick a field goal. The Jets kicked the field goal and took a 3 point lead, but were unable to get that elusive first down, which resulted in only 24 seconds coming off the clock. That left enough time for the Patriots to march down the field and get a field goal to force overtime. The Patriots ended up winning in overtime, which was another disaster I won’t rehash.

At least the Jets made it a close game. The Konmen put up a miserable outing, losing by over 24 points. At 3 – 4, the Konmen are now in 6th place with an 74 point lead over the 7th place team. With the top 6 teams making the playoffs, that might turn into an important stat to track through the end of the regular season. I’m also thinking, with the majority of important players already having their bye week, things will start looking up for the Konmen. Well, at least I hope so.

There were two players that pulled off perfect weeks last week… the Konmen were not one of them. A perfect week would have netted 91 points for the week, the Konmen netted 75 points, good for 46th place. I’m now in 27th place overall and 75 points behind the overall leader. I’d love to be able to say I’m closer to 1st place this week, but I moved farther away. On to next week we go.
