Fantasy Football Week 5/6 Update

Apparently the Triple Crown post last week was somewhat of a jinx, which I thought might happen, but the Triple Crown is still alive. I’m still alive in the survival pool, but moved down 1 spot in the pick ‘em league and 2 spots in the fantasy football league. See below for results:

Survival Pool:

Week 5 Pick – Philly
Remaining Players – 28 (19 eliminated)

The Eagles game turned out to be a blowout over the Bucs with no real stress involved. So far this season I’ve picked Baltimore, Minnesota, New York (N), Chicago, and Philly – all of which are not available to be picked again this season.

Week 6 Pick – Green Bay

Pick ‘em:

Week 5 Points – 77
Total Points – 488
Overall Rank – 4th (tied)

This turned out to be a tough week where I picked 8 winners and 6 losers, easily my worst week of the season. The result was moving down from 3rd to 4th place. On a side note, I am tied with a few others for most winning picks for the season with 55. It’s the confidence points where I’m in 4th… and also where it matters in the standings.

Week 6 Upset Picks – Denver, Giants, and Tampa

Fantasy Football:

Week 5 – Loss 123-112 to Flava Flav
Overall Rank – 4-1, 3rd (10 teams)
Overall Points – 593 (2nd Most)

This loss hurt. My opponent, Flava Flav, started Roddy White (ATL – Receiver). White ended up with 35 points for the week. On the other hand, I had 2 players, Cooley (WAS – TE) and San Francisco (DEF) go scoreless. An average day from both of them would have put me over the top. Primanty Brothers, playing from Costa Rica these days, is in first place with a 5-0 record.

Week 6 Starters – K. Warner (QB-ARI), H. Ward (WR – PIT), S. Smith (WR-CAR), D. Driver (WR), A. Petersen (RB-MIN), M. Forte (RB-CHI), C. Cooley (TE-WAS), T. Jones (RB/WR – NYJ), L. Tynes (K-NYJ), Denver (DEF).

Week 6 Bench – C. Palmer (QB-CIN), K. Smith (RB-DET), F. Jackson (RB-BUF), S. Moss (WR-WAS), D. Keller (TE-NYJ), San Francisco (DEF).

Week 6 Yahoo! Projected Score – 110-110 (vs. Champaign – 3rd Place – 509 Points)
